Massachusetts
One of the original colonies, Massachusetts is a New England state with a lot of influence in America's past. The Pilgrims who founded the Plymouth colony in 1620 did so here, and this was the site of the Salem Witch Trials. Harvard University, the nation's oldest college, calls this state home, and many Revolutionary War events took place here. This seventh-smallest state is among the highest in population density, with over half residing in or around Boston, where you also find the most reputable coin and precious metal dealers.
