Rhode Island
This state is the smallest in the entire country. Despite being the smallest state, Rhode Island also happens to be among the states with the highest population density. It was also the last to be founded of the 13 colonies. It is a New England state with the nickname, "The Ocean State". Nearly 14 percent of the state's area consists of bays and water inlets. It was once a leading manufacturer of textiles and silverware. And, because of all the water access, it's a leader in the fishing industry.
